 It has already been said that holding control, shift, control+shift allow you to minimize in slow, slower, slowest mode respectively. It has also been said that holding alt minimizes all windows of an application. So what happen if you hold alt+control, alt+shift, alt+control+shift? For the first two, exactly what you would expect: It minimizes all windows in slow and slower mode. BUT for alt+control+shift, after minimizing all windows in slowest mode, one pops out again immediately (though in a broken way). After that, every 6 seconds, another windows pops out, until they are all out. You can make them pop slow or slower by holding control or shift, but control+shift works as slow instead of slowest. During the animation and for 6 seconds after, you cannot use the windows. Note that holding all three keys at once works inconsistently, so you might have to try more than once. Also, if you F9 during the time the windows minimize, then hit F11 after they have minimized, they will repop smaller..

I was able to change the Dock behaviour to scale by doing a 
 kill -HUP 
 on the process called: /System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Contents/MacOS/Dock -psn_0_7471105
 But some of the other settings (blue triangle, etc) didn't change. Anyone have any similar experience?
Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the genie-type effects completely? Thanks.

Another way to apply changes is to run the following apple script:
 tell application 'Dock'
 quit
 end tell
 It will quit and then restart the dock. Apple had this script on their site for awhile (with other Dock scripts), although I'm not sure if it's still there.

Here's a simple GUI utility called 'Tinker Tool' for changing these settings. It will also let you create translucent terminal windows that look awesome though they don't completely behave themselves.

After a bit of fooling around, I've discovered that minimizing (or maximizing) with the shift key down will display the effect in Slow Motion, as Steve Jobs did in the MacWorld Keynote Demos. It works with all three settings, Genie, Scale, and Suck. Sure it's slower, but seeing the animation is fun for a few minutes.
Mac Os VersionsThe easies way to see the changes is to quit 'Dock' in the ProcessViewer. No log-out required.

Number Genie Mac Os Download I found the the same three minimize graphics changes as you, but they were in the system prefs under 'dock'
 NOTE: This may be because I have 10.1
I use 10.1.3 and Dock prefs only lists genie and scale. Check again, cause I'm not sure it has all three. I have to use Tinker Tool to get the third.
